Tennant D. Magee, Sr.
Tennant D. Magee, Sr., is AV-Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer rating for legal ability and ethical standards bestowed by that organization, and was selected for the 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015 New Jersey Super Lawyers lists, as well as the 2014 New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.
Mr. Magee is a former Judicial Clerk to the Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Appellate Division (Hon. John E. Keefe, Sr., P.J.A.D.), Assistant State's Attorney for Baltimore City (Juvenile, Felony, and Narcotics Divisions), Assistant Attorney General for the State of Maryland (Criminal Appeals Division), and has been an attorney in private practice for approximately sixteen years. In private practice, Mr. Magee's experience has spanned arguing on behalf of foreign sovereign entities in federal appellate court, to civil litigation, the negotiation and drafting of agreements, to the representation of individuals in municipal court. To date, he has seven reported appellate decisions to his credit (out of over approximately eighty appeals) and eleven reported decisions overall.
Presently, Mr. Magee has the honor of serving as Township Attorney for the Township of Long Beach, Legal Counsel for the Shore Conference of High Schools, Legal Counsel for PBA Local 295, Legal Counsel for the Spring Lake Employees' Association, and Alternate Borough Attorney for the Borough of Ship Bottom. He previously served as Special Counsel for the Borough of West Long Branch.
